West Richland Police Dept. "Support the Scruff"

Richland PD Group

The West Richland Police Department is always looking for ways to improve the quality of life for those we serve. This year has been especially hard on communities all over, and the Tri-Cities is no exception. WRPD has conducted a "No-Shave Campaign" for the last 3 years and are pleased to do it again!

From October 1 through December 15, officers who want to throw away their razors, are doing so to help fundraise for United Way of Benton & Franklin County's COVID-19 health recovery... and they're asking their community to join them!

The West Richland Officers Association is kicking off the campaign with a donation of $500. Help us reach our goal of $2,000, which could provide one year of shelter for a local homeless youth and one year of mental health mentoring for 10 at-risk students.

Why now?

All donations received during this effort are eligible for a 100% match by All in WA! That's right- $10, $20, $100 turns into $20, $40, or $200 for the community! You will make TWICE the impact.

Thanks to the CARES Act, you can also receive a $300 above-the-line tax deduction when you file your 2020 taxes with a standard deduction! A married couple filing jointly can take a $600 deduction.

We know COVID-19 has amplified hardships in our community. One of the biggest concerns we have is the loss of health care and insurance. Your contributions help improve our entire community.

Additional example of what our combined dollars can do right here in Benton & Franklin Counties:

  • Preventing complications in uninsured diabetics
  • Mental health access for the uninsured
  • General health services for uninsured workers
  • Horse riding therapy for children with developmental disabilities
  • Provisions of service dogs to local veterans
